Girl, Stop Playing and Start Living Like You Believe Again
Girl, Stop Playing and Start Living Like You Believe Again
(by Royalé Elyse (Milkia Waller), Founder of Crowned Confidence Institute™)
You don’t need permission to rise again—just the faith to remember who you are.
There was a season in my life when I kept showing up for everyone else—in classrooms, boardrooms, and broken rooms—while forgetting that my presence was already purpose. I thought confidence was about getting louder. But God taught me confidence is really about getting clearer.
“Being confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” — Philippians 1:6
That verse became the rhythm of my rebuilding season. And as I sat with it, God revealed something deeper:
He began a good work in us because before the foundation of the world, we already proceeded with Him. We were seated in heavenly places before we ever walked this earth. We are spirit first eternal before we were ever visible.
That’s why our spirits are limitless. That’s why we can speak those things that are not as though they were. That’s why faith is the currency that moves heaven—because without faith, it’s impossible to please God.
Confidence isn’t about pretending you’re perfect; it’s remembering your origin.
Where “Girl, Stop Playing” Was Born
I remember walking into classrooms as a teacher, and the young girls would look up and say,
“You’re so pretty!”
And I’d smile and say, “Girl, stop playing—you are too!”
That simple phrase became my way of speaking life back into the next generation. I almost titled my book Girl, Stop Playing — You’re Pretty Too, until my beautiful mentor, Dr. Cindy Trimm, looked at me and said,
“Don’t tell them what your book is about on the cover. You’ll swallow it. Just call it Girl, Stop Playing.”
She was right. Because Girl, Stop Playing isn’t just about outer beauty—it’s about identity.
As I grew, the phrase matured with me. Now, when I say Girl, Stop Playing, I’m talking to the little girl inside every grown woman—the one who still feels unqualified, unseen, or not enough. She’s the one who needs to hear, “Rise up.”
Anybody can be a woman. But a lady—a crowned, confident lady—is cultivated. She’s refined by faith, healed by truth, and anchored in purpose.
Faith Is Still a Strategy
Faith isn’t passive. It’s not waiting for the stars to align; it’s moving while trusting the light in your own lane.
At Crowned Confidence Institute™, I teach women that confidence is a divine discipline. It’s not about having it all together; it’s about knowing Who holds it all together.
Whether you’re launching your first book, rebuilding after loss, or simply rediscovering your voice, faith is the most strategic move you can make.
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.” — 2 Timothy 1:7
You already have what it takes. You just have to stop playing and start believing again.
The Crowned Confidence Movement
Crowned Confidence was never about being perfect—it’s about being positioned.
It’s about remembering that your crown is not a symbol of pride, but of promise.
Every time you rise, you restore the rhythm of royalty in your bloodline.
Every time you speak truth, you rewrite what silence tried to steal.
Every time you say “yes” to your next level, you remind the world that faith and elegance can coexist.
Because when you remember who you are in the Spirit, everything else falls into alignment in the natural.
